Lindenwood got the scoring started 10:13 into the first period on an Adam Conquest goal from Mitch Allard and Coltan Wilkie. Conquest beat Nanooks' netminder Matt Radomsky from his right from inside the point for the 1-0. Their 1-0 lead stood through the first intermission. Macaulay scored his second-career goal off of a Kyle Gaffney shot that bounced in front of the net. After the puck was played from the crease, Macaulay put the goal away, making it 1-1.

Only 2:05 later, the Nanooks found the lead. Payton Matsui played the puck to Anton Rubtsov for a shot, after his shot was saved by Trent Burnham, the puck settled in the slot where Karl Falk sniped one by Burnham for the lead and game-winner. The Nanooks kept playing add-on as with just under 40 seconds remaining in the second, Brady Risk tallied the third of the period. Alaska went 0/1 on the power play in the second period.
