Cross Country Running:
2012 as a senior: Placed 5th in the 4k with a 13:03.0 time on the second day of the Alaska Invitational...Placed 24th overall at the GNAC Championships 8K.
2011 as junior: Opened up the season leading the Nanooks in September, finishing 5th in the 8K and 4th in the 4K with a time of 13:07.2 during the Alaska Nanooks Cross Country Invitational...In Hawaii at the UHH Invite, Kornfield paced the Nanooks finishing sixth in the four mile race with a time of 21:28....Finished out the season leading the Nanooks at the GNAC Championships, taking 37th overall with a time of 26:46.
2010 as a sophmore: Kornfield returned for his second season with the Nanooks as the consistent top finisher for the men; at the Alaska Nanooks Cross Country Invitational in September he led the Nanooks, finishing 4th overall in the 8K with a time of 27:12.6; at the tri-meet against Seattle Pacific University and Northwest Nazarene University, he was again the top Nanook finisher, taking 3rd place in the 4K with a time of 13:08.80; in Hawaii at the Chaminade Invitational, Kornfield took 4th in the 8K with a time of 26:33.8; he finished out his season as a member of the GNAC Championship team, taking 28th overall with a lifetime best of 26:26.7 in the 8K; was selected at the Nanooks MVP at the conclusion of the season.
2009 as a freshman: Kornfield's first season with the Nanooks showed just how dominating force he will be; as a freshman, he inished 3rd place, first for the Nanooks, with a time of 18:31.9 in the 8K at the UAF West Ridge Invitational in August; finished 2nd place, first for the Nanooks, with a time of 9:58.7 in the 3K meet against Central Washington Universtiy in August; Kornfield finished his first season as a member of the GNAC Championship team, finishing first for the Nanooks, 37th overall, with his 27:36 time in the 8K.
Nordic Skiing:
2012-13 as a senior: Started the season placing 4th in the 7.5K Classic with a time of 22:23 at the Nordic Cup...Placed 42nd overall in the 1.3K Classic with a time of 03:01.4 ranking forth in the CCSA and finished in 45th overall in the 15K Freestyle with a time of10:10:00 ranking 5th in the CCSA at US Nationals...Finished in 9th place overall in the 10K Freestyle with a time of 21:45 ranking first in the CCSA at the Supertour...Finished in 15th place in the 10K Classic with a time of 32:21:00 at the CCSA Championships...Men's all-CCSA second team...Finished out his season placeing 11th in the 10K Classic with a time of 32:21:00 to help Alaska take second overall in the NCAA Central Regional Championships.
2011-12 as a junior: Began the season strong finishing 3rd in the 5K Classic with a time of 13:50 and 2nd in the 5K Freestyle with a time 28:16 during the Nordic Cup in November....At the US National Cross Country Skiing Championships, Kornfield earned his second career trip to the podium sprinting to a third place finish in the 1.6K with a time of 3:12.09...Rounded out the US Nationals with a 10th place finish in the 30K Classic with a time of 1:28:23.2...Won the his first individual conference championship race capturing the CCSA title in the 20K Classic with a time of 1:02:40 helping the Nanooks finish first overall...At the Central Region Championships in February, Kornfield took 6th place in the 10K with a time of 25:53.70 and 11th in the 15K with a time of 41:46.3...Named a first team CCSA All Conference selection...At the NCAA Championships in March, Kornfield finished off the season placing 37th in the 10K and 34th in the 20K with a time of 1:02:12.4.
2010-11 as a sophmore: Kornfield started off his sophomore season skiing by helping the Nanooks claim the Nordic Cup for the fifth straight year in November with his first place finish in the sprint, his 4th place finish in the 8K with a time of 30:52.6 and his 2nd place finish in the 10K with a 29:51.0...in January at the US National Cross Country Skiing Championships, he was the top finisher for the Nanooks in the 1.6K Sprint, taking 13th place overall with a time of 3:25.22...he took 9th in the 15K with a time of 44:48.4... Kornfield finished out the trip with a 4th place finish in the Junior Boys class race of 4 x 2.5K loop, finishing with a time of 25:31.2 and landing him a spot on the US World Junior Championship team for the second year in a row...at the NCAA Central Region Championships in Feburary, Kornfield took 6th place in the Freestyle event with a time of 27:05.5 and qualified for the NCAA National Championships for the second straight year...at the NCAA Championships in March, Kornfield finished 28th in the 10K with a time of 27:41.4 and finished 17th in the 20K despite falling and breaking a pole.
2009-10 as a freshman: Kornfield started his skiing career for the Nanooks similar to his running career...at the Flint Hills Town Race Series in November, he took first in his class and fourth overall in the 10K with a time of 30:03.5...in December Kornfield helped the Nanooks capture the Nordic Cup the fourth straight year with his finish in the 15K with a time of 33.50 and as a member of the winning 3 x 10K Relay, leading off with a time of 30:59.7...at the US Cross Country Skiing Championships in January, Kornfield took 4th place in the 1.5K Sprint with a time of 2:57.88 and finished 50th overall in the 15K with a time of 42:12.6...he attended the World Junior Championships in Germany; at the NCAA Central Region Skiing Championships in February, Kornfield became the first skier to qualify for the NCAA Championships with is 4th place finish in the 10K and a time of 30:01.4... in the 15K he took 13th with a time of 41:16.3; at the NCAA Skiing Championships in March, Kornfield wrapped up his freshman season with a 25th place finish in the 10K with a time of 31:00.0 and a 31st place finish in the 20K with a 52:00.0.
Prior to Alaska: Member of Service HS Ski Team in Anchorage, Alaska for four years.
