Nanooks Venture to Illinois for Lewis Crossover this Weekend

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Nanooks cross country team heads to the Lewis Crossover this weekend in Romeoville, Ill. This will be the second time competing at the Crossover, last year being their first.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks last raced at the 2025 Bill Roe Classic in Ferndale, Wash. (hosted by WWU) on Sept. 27. The women's team posted 127 points and took fourth in the 6k race while the men's team finished with 173 points, taking eighth in the 8k race. Lucca Duke led the women's team with an eight-place individual finish (21:34.2). She was followed by Tabitha Williams, Teegan Silva, Madison Schuh, and Riga Grubis. In the men's race, the Nanooks' Dexter Delaney also finished with an individual eighth-place finish. He was followed by Ian Baker, Blake Hanley, Finn Morley, and Nick Iverson

Personal Records
The Nanooks posted 11 new PR's at the Bill Roe Classic two weeks ago. Seven men's racers posted PR's while the women's team saw four new PR's. Ian Baker, Brady Benedict, Dexter Delaney, Blake Hanley, Nick Iverson, Finn Morley, and Ned Peters all posted 8k personal records. On the women's team: Lucca Duke, Victoria Myers, Devyn Townsend, and Tabitha Williams all posted new 6k personal records. 

This Weekend
The women's team will run first this weekend, with the women's race beginning at 6:45 a.m. AKST. The men's race will follow, and be raced at 7:30 a.m. AKST. There are over 35 schools competing this weekend and over 200 runners. The weather prediction for race time on Saturday is 64F, slightly windy, sunny, and clear with 0% precipitation.

  • The teams participated in the Lewis Crossover a year ago. The women's team finished fifth while competing in the championship race while the men's team took sixth in the open race. 
  • Five women's runners raced in last season's Lewis Crossover. 
  • Tabitha Williams led the way for returners a year ago with a 70th-place finish. Lucca Duke took 78th, Teegan Silva took 236th, Riga Grubis took 244th, and Madison Schuh took 287th. 
  • On the men's side, four from this season ran at last year's race. 
  • Ben Dohlby finished ninth while Finn Morley finished 48th, Blake Hanley took 71st, and Clem Taylor-Roth took 87th. 
What's to Come
This is the final race of the season before the GNAC Championships. The Nanooks will return home and begin preparation for the 2025 GNAC Championships on Oct. 25 in Billings, Mont. at Amend Park.
