FAIRBANKS – The Alaska hockey team is kicking off the 2014-15 season as it hosts the Alaska Nanook Hockey Fan Fest on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Patty Center.
Â
The event, which will begin at noon and end at 3 p.m., is free for all fans to participate. Fan Fest is a great event to start Alaska's second season as a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).
Â
"Fan Fest is a fun, interactive event for all ages of Nanooks fans to come help Alaska Hockey kick off the season," said Nanook head coach
Dallas Ferguson. "Alaska Hockey has some of the greatest fans in college hockey and Fan Fest is a great way to connect them with the student athletes. We are looking forward to a great event."
Â
Fans in attendance will meet the players, coaches and staff as well as enjoy games and activities in the Patty Center Gymnasium. There will also be a "Skate with the Nanooks" session at the Patty Ice Arena where 24 fans will be selected to go one-on-one with an Alaska Nanook goaltender.
