Bozek Named to Academic All-District Team

Capital One Academic All-District Teams 

FAIRBANKS, Alaska –
Redshirt senior Nicole Bozek (Mukilteo, Wash./Kamiak) was named to the 2011-12 Capital One Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team on Thursday. The squad was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
 
The Academic All-District® teams honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
 
She was one of four Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball players tabbed to the team from District 8, which is represented by student-athletes from the GNAC, the Pacific West Conference and California Collegiate Athletic Association. She was joined by Seattle Pacific's Katie Benson, Chaminade's Kelly Costello, Alaska Anchorage's Hanna Johansson, Montana State Billings' Bobbi Knudsen and UC-San Diego's Emily Osga.
 
Bozek, a graduate student studying business, already received her accounting degree last year in her undergraduate studies and holds a 3.80 cumulative GPA.
 
On the court, Bozek is the league's fifth-leading scorer with 16.1 points per game, while ranking sixth in blocks (1.0 bpg) and seventh in both rebounding (8.1 rpg) and free throw percentage (.813). She has played in 20 this season, making 19 starts.
 
Each member of the Division II All-District® teams, 42 in all across the eight geographical districts, advances to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
