FAIRBANKS, AK – Alaska Nanooks men’s basketball head coach Clemon Johnson announced the signing of 5-foot-11 guard Jarrett Miller of North Pole, Alaska, to a National Letter of Intent. He will enter the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the fall as a junior with two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics will host the 26th Annual IBEW Nanook Fund Golf Scramble on June 11 at the North Star Golf Club. IBEW is in its seventh year as the title sponsor for the tournament, which is the major fund-raising event for student-athlete scholarships. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Alaska Nanooks.

Senior guard Emmanuel Jenkins (Tacoma, WA) and junior forward Nashorn Maynard (Saint Paul's, Saint Kitts) received honorable mention to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference team for the 2009-10 men’s basketball season.  The league also announced on Monday that Jenkins earned GNAC Co-Player of the Week for the week ending March 7.

Alaska turned a 10-point second half deficit into a two point win on senior night in Fairbanks on Saturday afternoon. Nine different Nanooks found the scoring column as they also outscored Northwest Nazarene 36-16 in the paint in a 77-75 win.
